My new friends - all of them are helping me improve my Spanish. The last one on the right is Ana, my roommate in the hotel in San Jose, an MSU preservice teacher, and my interpreter when I don't understand things.

How exciting all this is! Have fun, and do whatever you need to renew your spirit for education. You are a wonderful educator, and I'm sure the lessons you bring back will be great for you and for your work with students.

I was thinking of you this morning when we had our meeting at the US Embassy. The Director of Cultural Affairs here is a really interesting guy who used to write for the Chicago Tribune!
